KAREN MA THERAPY

APPROACH

People often come to therapy feeling disconnected from themselves or caught in patterns they can’t fully explain. You may function well outwardly, yet feel alienated, frustrated, or disoriented in ways that don’t resolve on their own.
Therapy offers a space to speak freely, even when what needs to be said is not yet fully known. Relief from anxiety, depression, or other painful symptoms is often the initial aim, but the work can also open the possibility of addressing the conflicts that give rise to these experiences. Through the therapeutic process, meanings can shift, and new ways of relating to yourself, others, and what you want can be discovered.

AREAS OF FOCUS

I work with people facing a wide range of concerns, including:
— Anxiety
— Depression
— Effects of childhood experiences, including abuse and neglect
— Grief and loss
— Family and relationship conflict
— Work stress and career uncertainty
— Life transitions
— Creative blocks
— Perfectionism and self-criticism
— Relational patterns that feel difficult to change

WHAT TO EXPECT

Sessions take place once or twice a week. You are encouraged to speak whatever comes to mind without censorship, including memories, dreams, and anything that feels indirect or uncertain. I listen closely, and without judgment, to the language you use and what repeats, as these often reveal what is difficult to see directly.
You are also welcome to speak freely about how the work is progressing. Treatment does not follow a predetermined timeline, and we will talk together about what feels appropriate as the work develops.

GETTING STARTED

Please email me to schedule a complimentary consultation call. This is an opportunity for you to share your current concerns and ask any questions about my approach. It is also a chance for us to get a sense of how we might work together. If we decide to move forward, we will schedule our first session.
